Recommended Training for Licensees

Under the Licensing Act 2003 Local Authorities are looking to premises license holders to ensure that all due diligence can be demonstrated by businesses selling alcohol. This included a rigorous training requirement for all those connected with the sale of alcohol and those with supervisory and management responsibility.

Designated Premises Supervisor

A designated premises supervisor is the person named on a premises licence, under the Licensing Act 2003 the DPS has the responsibility for ensuring their premises complies with relevant legislation. As such the DPS must be a personal licence holder and will have been awarded the National Certificate for Personal Licence Holders. The DPS has all the legal and social responsibilities that go with being a personal licence holder, but also a number of additional legal, social and moral responsibilities that the person in ultimate control of licensed premises would expect.
The NCDPS qualification can be achieved by distance learning or by attending one of our regular courses.
Assessments are by a multiple choice examination and successful candidates will receive a nationally recognised certificate.
